HIP HIP HURRAY To the GUBA Awards team!

I was recently invited to attend the GUBA Awards in London. GUBA meaning Ghana UK Based Achievers.

This was a well organized event with lots of the usual well known TV stars, Actors,Radio personalities, designers, directors and the list goes on....

It is always good for me to take time out of the studio, and to be in such environments, to display my "other self".

Its getting 'THIRSTY' in Athens!

My second trip this year to Athens this year was a fantastic one. Although work consumed most of time there, it was hugely enjoyable. I was lucky to work with a team who understood the concept of the performance we had planned- 'THIRST", making everything smooth and professional.

'Kit and Caboodie'

Having carried this specially made case around to a few high profile events has been fun and an education. The question mostly asked is "Is that a Painting?", or "Is it a Carrier Case?". "Is it a piece of Art?". Well the answer is that its all those things and more, but as a creator, i create and do not necessarily label or categorize all i make. Sometimes, in fact most times its more freeing to create first, and then think later. 'Too much thinking spoils the broth'. I'm just glad its caught the imagination of the public, and along with other painted cases have now become part of the seemingly increasing number of trademark creations associated with my work.

June has been an exciting month, with lots of new and cool things pouring out of my studio, and one of them is working with one of my favorite new bands 'Warehouse Republic'. now, these guys are seriously groovy and have introduced some killer tunes so far.

The later part of the performance sees me burning almost every i
was wearing during the early part of the performance, including
my costume made of African fabric, my white shirt, drawings
created of the audience watching,bandages and so forth.

Just worked with a fantastic photographer called Antonio Nodar, based both in London and Barcelona. Photos were taken at Golden Square in Soho.

This was surely a fun time for both of us, as it was spontaneous and artistically fearless, like it should be! here are a couple of photos from the day.
